A cool, grey day

It is a cloudy, grey day. Usually those kinds of days make me sad and bring on the symptoms of my seasonal affective disorder. However, today is a little different.

These things make me smile today:

Hot coffee --

Primroses blooming on the kitchen windowsill --

My puppy playing with his ball --

Homeschooling in pj's and a Santa hat long after Christmas--
And Psalm 29: (with my comments)

1Bravo, GOD, bravo! Gods and all angels shout, "Encore!" (Give Him a standing ovation!)
2In awe before the glory,in awe before God's visible power. Stand at attention! Dress your best to honor him! (Be amazed.)
3GOD thunders across the waters,Brilliant, his voice and his face, streaming brightness--GOD, across the flood waters. (can you see it? Whitecaps on the ocean, a storm brewing)
4GOD's thunder tympanic,GOD's thunder symphonic. (the thunder in the storm!)
5GOD's thunder smashes cedars, GOD topples the northern cedars. (tornadoes obey Him)
6The mountain ranges skip like spring colts,The high ridges jump like wild kid goats.
7GOD's thunder spits fire. (volcanoes spew and he shifts the earth's crust and moves the mountains effortlessly, with only a word)
8GOD thunders, the wilderness quakes; He makes the desert of Kadesh shake. (earthquakes shake the mountains)
9GOD's thunder sets the oak trees dancing A wild dance, whirling; the pelting rain strips their branches. We fall to our knees--we call out, "Glory!" (even in just a windy thunderstorm)
10Above the floodwaters is GOD's thronefrom which his power flows, from which he rules the world. (the clouds above the ocean)
11GOD makes his people strong.GOD gives his people peace. (He can do all these things, and yet He loves us, and we belong to Him.)
